Instructions updated for different client versions. If your client is v1.2 or above then you can skip step 3 and 4. Right now the Chinese retail and English beta clients are both v1.0 so those steps are necessary.

2009/06/10 Japanese CB client update!

Updated 776 voice files, 630 new, 137 modified.

Patch available from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Just unzip and replace your old Sounds folder, and also the voice folder if your client is 1.0.

Another update... added 910 new voice files and changed 49 existing ones.

New patch: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (previous patch not required)

Ok this is not working I did like you said copied sounds in CHS then took a copy of voice and put it into the root/sound folder and when I try and launch aion i get an error EVERY time it check s the files then proceeds to download the old stuff again

Hmm, it looks like you have somehow changed some pak files in the process.

When you make a backup of Aion\Sounds\voice in step 3, make sure you copy the folder, and do not rename or move the original one. You need the original files.

If you do this correctly the launcher will not ask you to check and repair files.

Lol the rar did not contain a .pak file it contained a bunch of .ogg files

That is exactly the case. If we were to replace an existing pak file, the launcher would detect the change and restore it back to the original version.

Japanese OB just started on 7/7, 7am. There are no updates to the voice files.

you do realize that there is not actual "korean" or "japanese" voices in the game its all made up language. not a single world is korean,chinese or japanese. so i dont see how changing something will make a defference when all the versions of the game have gibberish as the voices
